What is Naturally Austin

Naturally Austin is a nonprofit organization that functions as the industry association and community convener for the consumer package goods industry in Central Texas. Our mission is to stimulate conscious growth, foster responsible and sustainable entrepreneurship, and develop exceptional leaders while growing the CPG ecosystem. Naturally Austin was founded in 2019 and is one of 8 affiliate cities that make up the Naturally Network.

Consumer package goods are fast-moving products that can be purchased by consumers that need regular replenishment and can be purchased online, in the grocery store, at farmer’s markets, or other retailers. It includes products like sparkling waters, beer, juices, and smoothie kits, to snack bars, chips and salsas,  probiotics, household cleaning supplies, beauty products, and more.  Austin is a hotbed of CPG innovation and a dynamic CPG ecosystem full of amazing brands that range from startups with products being sold locally, to brands with global distribution and name recognition. 

To fulfill our mission of growing our local industry, we operate programs that align the ecosystem around the values we want to foster and offer a regular cadence of educational and networking events. This is where you come in!

The role:

The Naturally Austin Senior Director of Programming is an integral role for our organization that is focused on several key areas - supporting and operating our existing programs, general organization management, leading community engagement, and sponsorship support. This role will have an impact in every area of the business and influence how we fulfill our mission and how our community experiences our brand. We are looking for candidates that align with our values and approach to our work - inclusion, leadership, transparency, empowerment, curiosity, collaboration, an entrepreneurial spirit, and doing good for people and the planet. This person will work directly and report to the Executive Committee of the Board and manage administrative and marketing contractors.

This is a full time position with potential to grow into an Executive Director position depending on individual performance and the organization reaching fundraising targets.

This position is based in Austin and while remote, must be able to attend regular after-hours events in the Austin area.

What You’ll Do

  • Creating or refining the operational and marketing playbooks for programs as needed

  • Supporting the management of partners (sponsors) and members through communication tools and assets. This includes maintenance communication, onboarding events, and delivery of benefits. 

  • Managing the marketing calendar and campaigns (via social and email newsletters) and working with stakeholders to collect all needed assets and information

  • Event management and support - ensure the success of Naturally Austin’s event schedule which includes monthly networking and education events and four “capstone” events including Pitch Slam, Women in CPG, Sustainability Week and I Love CPG

  • Gather and maintain program and participant data to create impact reports and program refinements

  • Work with other Naturally Network Affiliates and the Naturally Network ED and participate in the Best Practices Committee and support key collaborative events throughout the year.

  • Support fundraising efforts (Board manages this) by assisting with proposal development, serving as a subject matter expert on prospecting calls, managing the prospect pipeline, and coordinating invoicing with our accounting firm. 

  • Manage the sponsorship experience to ensure benefits are fulfilled (Board Development Committee will support as well)

  • Managing our membership platform which powers memberships, event postings, and services as our membership database

  • Assure adequate records of all transactions and correspondence are maintained for review by auditors, the Board or other officials or agencies. 

  • Recruit new members and strengthen engagement of existing members via attendance at key events and soliciting regular feedback from members

  • Be the face of Naturally Austin in the community

Who You Are

  • Program and/or project management experience

  • Have some experience managing event logistics - in-person and virtual.

  • Have some experience working with and managing a board of directors

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping others

  • Well-organized and can manage multiple projects 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills - you’ll be interfacing with business leaders, board members, partners and members from our community daily

  • Comfortable with autonomy

  • Radical ownership mindset

  • A creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Excited to be an advocate for Austin’s CPG ecosystem

    Nice to Have:

  • Experience with sponsor/donor/client relations 

  • Experience working with large groups of stakeholders or a membership environment

  • Experience, knowledge, or a network in the CPG industry

  • Have some experience working in operational and marketing tools like Airtable, Gsuite, Canva, etc.
